The ultimate way to experience the essence of Pilates is through the man who has been teaching for over 50 years and who learned directly from Joseph Pilates himself. Our mentor and first generation master teacher, Jay Grimes, has revived the open session class concept and it’s catching on, as the results speak for themselves.
Reserved for Pilates instructors and experienced practitioners, registration for Jay’s class requires senior teacher approval. Prerequisite participation in Strong Body Pilates open session class or private lessons may be necessary. If you’re traveling from out of town, please contact the studio in advance to allow adequate time to prepare.
Steps Toward Pre-approval:
- Have prior experience working with a senior teacher from Strong Body Pilates or a teacher with extensive experience working with Jay Grimes. Book a lesson or group class here or contact us with the requisite information.
- Be familiar with Joe’s Reformer and Mat order, and perform exercises commensurate to your level. (*note: provided lists are not exhaustive)
- Ability to conduct a self-directed workout following Joe’s original approach.
Class is 55-minutes and takes place Tuesday at 12:00 pm and 1:30 p.m (either online or virtual, check the schedule here). Max in-person, 6 students, virtual, 8 students.
